Leaked Promo Suggests Pixel 8 Pro Could Include Free Pixel Watch 2: Here’s What We Know
Leaks and rumors regarding the Google Pixel 8 series are increasing as we quickly approach next month’s October 4 launch date. While most of the alleged specs, pricing, and color options have already been leaked, a new leak suggests that the Pixel 8 Pro may include a free Pixel Watch 2 as a pre-order bonus.
According to tipster Kamila Wojciechowska, Google will bundle a free Pixel Watch 2 with the Pixel 8 Pro in the US as a pre-order bonus for customers. However, this information is based on leaked promotional material and should be taken with a grain of salt as it is not yet official.
However, this wouldn’t be the first time Google offered a pre-order bonus on a Pixel smartphone. Earlier this year, Google offered the first-generation Pixel Watch as a free product with the Pixel Fold. In addition, it is also worth noting that both the Pixel 8 Pro and the regular Pixel 8 are expected to receive price increases this time around.
According to reports, the Pixel 8 could cost $699, while the Pixel 8 Pro could be $999, marking an alleged $100 price increase for both models. Therefore, offering a free Pixel Watch 2 as a limited-time pre-order bonus could be a way for Google to soften the impact of the price increase and of course provide value for the new price.
Google has scheduled its Pixel event for October 4, where it is expected to announce the Pixel 8 series and the Pixel Watch 2. The Pixel 8 series is rumored to be powered by Google’s third-generation Tensor G3 processor and is expected to share a similar design with the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, but with some changes to the camera module. However, some reports suggest that the Pixel 8 models could feature a flat 6.7-inch display instead of the Pixel 7 Pro’s curved panel. But we’ll have to wait and see what Google brings to the table.
